You may have seen, little old Sophie on BBC Breakfast this morning.

As always, it was a little bit of mad panic only receiving the call at 2pm yesterday and confirmation of times at 6pm last night. The pressure of course is on, especially when you are going live after John Caudwell who is extremely good with interviews, is knowledgeable and is such an amazing ambassador for Lyme Disease.. how was I supposed to live up to a professional.
The BBC staff all remembered me which put me greatly at ease and it made their jobs easier because I knew the score. I hadn't seen John's interview so again, I had heard it was amazing and needed to make sure I spoke clearly, directly and came across well. I was fighting for not only the 9,000 members in the Lyme Disease UK Group but for ALL who go on battling in silence and in so much pain. I tried to be in an uplifting tone, full of hope so that I didn't come across like I was just on there to rant and rave because really nobody takes any notice of those kind of interviews. I needed to be relatable but 'normal'. I wanted to be respectful of those who want to know more about Lyme disease ( like the BBC) and who are really trying to get their heads around the issue as well as raise awareness. It isn't there fault we battle and suffer so much and so they don't deserve to be ranted at.
Yet, there is so much to say and so little time. There was so much more I wish I could have put in but six minutes goes in the blink of an eye and you are so busy trying to answer all the questions the presenters asked me. The staff did tell me that I was one of only a few to be invited back in such a short space of time. So that's lovely to hear of course.
I just truly, truly hope I did myself proud, my fellow 'Lymie's', friends, family and EVERYONE, really. I am so sorry I didn't get more across, I could speak for HOURS AND HOURS, when you are so passionate about something I think we all can.
Once again, thank you so much for all the love, support and kind comments. I am TRYING to keep on top of them an answer them all in detail and personally. You take the time to write lovely words to me and I want to take the time to write lovely words back. Thank you!
I am so grateful. Let's hope we change the world, and we are finally given a chance to make real difference to so many lives.
Love always, Sophie. XOXO
