13 Reasons Why.

The new series 13 Reasons Why, had/has many of us hooked.

This was a hard-hitting but extremely good series raising the difficult issue of suicide, bullying & depression.

Many of us through our lives will face, darker times, depressions & many of us unfortunately are bullied at some point in lives.

Many of us know or have known a person who has taken their own lives and for many of us the subjects that relate to suicide are hard to swallow. Leading people to be ignorant to signs and blind to evidence of someone struggling. People don't want to associate themselves with such troubling issues.

The series shows Hannah a teenage girl who seemed to have everything but it was all a brave & false smile she painted on. Beyond the surface and deeper she was hurting & scarred. She leaves 13 tapes with to each of the 13 people who contributed to her taking her own life. These tapes may not be directed to the person she has given the tape but a situation that they were involved in that affected her.

This is a great series and I recommend you watch and see for yourselves.

Though I am all about creating negatives into positives.

So today - not dismissing the issue of sucicide but I wanted remember you all of 13 Reasons Why Life Is Great.

We all feel low at some point in our lives, hitting rock bottom. When you have these days I want you to remind yourself of these 13 reasons.

1. Family

Families are gems, people you consider family don't have to be blood related. They are the people who will support you through everything, fight with you & for you, teach you all you know through their own knowledge, experiences and wisdom and give you endless love and kindness that we all need a dose of regularly.

2. Friends

Friendship is a two way road. It isn't about who you have known the longest. It is about who comes into your life, says they will be there and proves it. They fight with you and for you. Support you and put themselves out for you, as you would for them. It is not a selfish bond, false friendship need to be ended as they are damaging and not beneficial to your soul.

3. Food

Food is one of life's top pleasures. Not only is it our medicine but we are able and lucky enough to experience such a massive, beautiful range of yummy products. Food opens our lives to different cultures, we can experience & learn so much from different cuisines, tastes and cooking methods. It brings people together 'the party is always in the kitchen', families catch up over food, friends are brought together through dinner events, travel experiences are made by food.

4. Laughter

One of the best medicines in life. We all know we feel better after a good giggle. Nobody can say they don't enjoy laughter. Surround yourselves with positive, funny people who allow you to lose yourself and enjoy this simple, free pleasure.

5. Travel

Have experiences to learn from, stories to tell rather than stuff to show.

Travel I strongly believe is the best way to learn. You learn about different cultures, history, enjoy food and gain cooking skills, meet amazing people, gain business ideas, helps self-development and of course you gain amazing memories.

I have met so many people with tunnel vision, we need to be more open minded. There is a big world out there, don't settle and be ignorant. Challenge yourself & be willing to learn. I am not book smart but it doesn't mean that beause I don't take information in by sitting in a classroom and taking exams that I don't want to learn and progress. I want to experience the lessons for myself and you all know from my blogs I do endless research to continually gain knowledge to help self-development.

6. Music

A language we all understand, using words and raising issues that can not be written. Music brings people together from across the world and lyrics can help us through our own issues or help us relate memories and moments to the songs.

7. Obstacles

A road without obstacles isn't worth travelling on. We all need challenges to help us learn and grow. The more obstacles good or bad, causing happiness or sadness is part of life's adventures and are part of life's purpose.

8. Hugs

A free and kind gift to give. A hug brings comfort to the person, calmness, love, support and decreases stress & anxiety.

9. Books

A gripping story, a factual read or a book displaying skills are all important to help reduce anxiety, learn new skill and educating yourself further. Knowledge is power.

10. Learning

Knowledge is power, there is always something else to learn. Whether this is through books, T.V programmes, experiences and travel. Learning can be as small as learning a new pasta dish to cook from learning a new language. Possibilities are endless. You have the power the gain the knowledge and skills you wish to. Use this gift wisely and regularly.

11. Celebrate

A little like law of attraction the more you celebrate the more you have to celebrate. You have to give out the vibes you want to receive back. Giving off negative vibes creates negativity throughout your whole life. So keep through good vibes flowing and enjoy the benefits. Note: I know full well there are times you can't just smile and be happy due to situations that are out of your control. We are all allowed to have down days, cry and feel the emotion of sadness. It by no means is a weakness but don't like a few bad days consume your entire life. That is the message here.

12. Experiences

The memories we gain for experiences are priceless. The people we share them with we will forever cherish!! Amazing moments with love ones, creating memories, stories, learning and enjoying ourselves are worth so much more than that Michael Kors watch. Your memories are for life, a watch will last a couple of years and there is no story behind it, no meaning, no benefit in the sense of learning and growing as a person.

Note: Respect and accept experiences that include family and friends because we never know when life can play its games and take our loved ones away. So create moments and memories you can keep forever when we are lucky enough to have them around!!

13. Love

A free and one of the most important gifts in life. There are many different types of love.

Romantic, Friendship and Family love.

All are just as important as each other and all as powerful.

Love feeds the soul with happiness, calming sensations and teaches us lessons on how to appreciate, respect, learn and show kindness to others.

A life without love is a life without colour. Spread that love.

I know I haven't really raised the serious issue of bullying. So I thought I would just end on this blog by offering advice and tips.

- Bullying is often encouraged by jealousy . Nasty comments about your appearance, job, career, life can often mean the person is jealous of you. They put you down to feed their own egos. Try to turn those negative comments into positives by reminding yourself of this fact and gain strength from that fact they see you as a threat and understand your power.

- Bullies are cowards and target people that they wish they could be like. If you are being picked on and targeted. I encourage you to write down all your strengths, talents and traits. And then realise that the bully is targeting you on these to try and knock you down, take you out of the game because they want what you have. Don't let their cuts scar! Stay in the game and keeping showing your strengths. Remember the bully is a coward, the more power you show the weaker they become eventually resulting in them surrendering and taking themselves out of the game.

- They aren't educated in love, kindness and caring for others. Don't fear them, pity them. These are life's most important skills.

- Accept negative, nasty comments with a smile and walk off. This will threaten the bully and show your strength

- If you are being bullied by a group or an individual where the bullying is serious please tell a responsible adult, teacher, parent etc. Don't feel ashamed or fear expressing your issues . It doesn't show weakness it shows strength. You are standing up for yourself and addressing a situation head on! Your bullies would never have the strength to do that. Remind yourself of that! You are the stronger, more mature and powerful person in this situtation which will stand you in a MUCH better place in life.

You may feel worthless, like you don't have a purpose. You do! We all deserve to experience life to the full, enjoy all the gifts life has to offer and experience the adventures. We are all worthy! We all put our own individual touch on the world.

Remember - nobody can be you!!

We can't all have the same traits and be good at the same things. We must accept our strengths and weakness.

You are special and make that stamp on the word.

Realise your strength & power and prove those bullies wrong.

Use the 13 reasons above as inspiration and motivation to fight on and find the treasure life has to offer.

Your friends and family are behind you all the way.

Fight on warriors! Show your strengths and enjoy life's gifts !

COOKING TIPS

#1
Feeling sluggish and rubbish when you have woken up? Get boosting up on bananas the more the better - they will help settle your stomach, boosting digestion, they are a mood enhancer, they will give you the energy you need and keep you full. Buy my book for banana receipe ideas.

#2
Wake up every morning and ATLEAST have one glass of lemon water before doing anything else! Ideally try to drink a litre of water. The lemon wakes up your digestive system ready for the day and has great cleansing properties.

#3
Check your dairy and meat intake - dairy can sit in your system for up to seven days unable to digest properly. Meaning other foods also get neglected and nurtients aren't absorbed properly and you feel extremely bloated. Go and smell your food bin, your stomach will be in that state. Rotting foods in your belly - hmm nice.

#4
DO NOT FEAR CARBS - THEY ARE NOT THE ENEMY! CARB UP!!
Bananas, Rice, Potatoes, Leafy Greens, Corn, Beans, Lentils etc PACK THEM IN GO MAD.

#5
NEVER COUNT CALORIES - NEVER RESTRICT!! These restriction 'starvation' diets who tell you to only eat 500 calories a day then have a treat day - where you binge out and eat WAY too much, is simply messing up your metabolism and on your binge days yours body stores all the fat meaning you gain weight because it knows it is going to go back into starvation mode and needs to hold onto every little thing it can. HELLO WEIGHT GAIN.

Life is too short not to live it to the full, making yourself happy.
