Balance Is Key. Self-Love. Life Balance.

The media and the world around us try to tell us every minute of everyday how to live our life's, from what we watch, how we dress, what we watch that it all leads us to become very confused.

We are all different however and we have to work to what works for us! We don't all love scary movies, we don't all enjoy soaps, we don't all eat meat & we don't all like wearing colour. Just because our friends like scary movies doesn't mean we have too, just because our family's watch soaps doesn't mean we have too, just beause shift dress don't work on our bodies but they are on trend doesn't mean we have to wear them, and just because meat doesn't sit right with us doesn't mean we have to eat it.

We get so wrapped up in the image of 'what we should be' that we lose ourselves.

We all need to remind ourselves of the quirks that make you- you!

Balance is key. In everything you do. Dance all night long and do yoga the next day. Drink wine because don't forget your water. Eat chocolate when you heart wants it and fruit when your body needs it. Wear hight heels on Saturday and wear flats on Sunday. Move enough and take time for stillness. Embrace all sides of who you are. Be brave and bold and let that complement your abilities to find silence, modesty & peace. Aim for balance. Make your own rules and follow your own path. Don't let anyone tell you how to live according to their lives

With Spring clipping at our heels and summer in sight the media will be covered in 'bikini' body diets, and get fit fast, lose weight over night. Silly promises and adverts to make us feel under-confidence in our skin and questioning ourselves, whether we need to change to fit the 'beach model' brief.

But working out 7 days a week and eating cucumber all day long won't make you happy, it still won't get you looking like that 'model' as most likely the media have heavily photoshopped the woman and you will miss out on adventures because you are too focused on an unrealistic goal.

That model may look beautiful, but she could be super boring and have no personality. Where as you have an amazing personality that people warm to instantly.

Yes it everyone wants to be beautiful - but looks fade, personalities are YOU. And that the most important thing.

It's good to be healthy and eat well but we have to live too!!

So I just wanted to remind you all that balance is key, live the life you enjoy & block out the negatives that we are faced with in the media. Follow your own heart, gut and path in life. You are enough as you are, people love you for you, not what your hobbies are, not what you watch, not size you are..

Don't fall into a trap that you begin a rountine that limits your life.

I know I HATE post-Xmas and pre-summer lose weight & diet adverts, they anger me so much.

Keep working on self-love & acceptance ❤️.

Any media adverts or outlets that you find are especially guilty of spreading the wrong message?

Do you practise self-love? If so, what techniques are you using?

Keep the love flowing, love and peace - S xoxo

SOPHIE'S
COOKING TIPS

#1
Feeling sluggish and rubbish when you have woken up? Get boosting up on bananas the more the better - they will help settle your stomach, boosting digestion, they are a mood enhancer, they will give you the energy you need and keep you full. Buy my book for banana receipe ideas.

#2
Wake up every morning and ATLEAST have one glass of lemon water before doing anything else! Ideally try to drink a litre of water. The lemon wakes up your digestive system ready for the day and has great cleansing properties.

#3
Check your dairy and meat intake - dairy can sit in your system for up to seven days unable to digest properly. Meaning other foods also get neglected and nurtients aren't absorbed properly and you feel extremely bloated. Go and smell your food bin, your stomach will be in that state. Rotting foods in your belly - hmm nice.

#4
DO NOT FEAR CARBS - THEY ARE NOT THE ENEMY! CARB UP!!
Bananas, Rice, Potatoes, Leafy Greens, Corn, Beans, Lentils etc PACK THEM IN GO MAD.

#5
NEVER COUNT CALORIES - NEVER RESTRICT!! These restriction 'starvation' diets who tell you to only eat 500 calories a day then have a treat day - where you binge out and eat WAY too much, is simply messing up your metabolism and on your binge days yours body stores all the fat meaning you gain weight because it knows it is going to go back into starvation mode and needs to hold onto every little thing it can. HELLO WEIGHT GAIN.

Life is too short not to live it to the full, making yourself happy.
