Four Weeks Until Cuba. Busy Week Ahead.

Happy Monday all,

A new week, for new exciting adventures and more memories to be made.

Four Weeks, FOUR weeks!

Cuba is coming around so quickly - but I am not complaining. I can't wait. It can't come fast enough for me.

I have taken the last few days to spark up my excitement even more so by researching Cuban cuisine and recipes that I want to recreate for you all, then testing a couple, which have all gone well so far. Even Matthew said he loved the look of my quesadillas and was gutted he hadn't got to try them! But all in due course.

I have a few hard-hitting blogs to come this week, but the messages are important and need spreading.

I know my blog is primarily based around food and recipes. Though I am learning that healing and happiness is a multiple of areas that all need working on to complete the full picture and reach the end destination.

I therefore want to share my journey, what I am learning everyday and how I am fighting my own battles to help you all.

I was so worried about posting my last post on self-love but the Instagram comments I received were so heart warming. I then realised that this is why I started all this in the first place - the recipes, blogs and books - to help! I get a kick out of helping people. So why not help myself and share my healing stories to help people is as many ways I possibly can.

People just see me as a 'silly girl' - what does she know? She doesn't have a degree?

No I don't, but I have something worth so much more.

Experience.

I live with chronic pain, migraines, insomnia, anxiety, depression, self-loathing & food intolerances everyday.

A score on a piece of paper doesn't mean anything when you don't feel the pain and live with it yourself. Battle through with it.

I know people who suffer with the above will understand what I mean and will respect my cause and willingness to create awareness. Frankly that's all that matters. I have to learn that I can't please everyone, no matter what I do, say, share or cook up people won't always agree or think it's a 'worthy cause'. Though I have to accept that these kind of people are people who are blessed with not suffering from any of the above, so don't understand and not to take their negative vibes to heart or let them affect me.

It is also SO important to raise more awareness for family and friends. So they can understand more. When you have to dine at certain places, go out at certain times due to medication, may cancel, may be moody etc. As for a lot of people they won't understand because they don't feel the pain you feel, so why wouldn't you be able to make a lunch date at 1pm? You know. So the message needs spreading to help many of us, our nearest and dearest, business owners taking on employees and most importantly sufferers themselves so you don't feel like you are going crazy!!

So look forward to a busy week, and keep up to date.

Heading to Birmingham today keep up to date with my all the adventures via Snapchat @sophwardy and insta @sophiewardy !

Don't miss out 💫✨

Hopefully more fun videos to come & more.

Have a blessed week, fill it with positives and starve the negatives. Love and peace xoxo

SOPHIE'S
COOKING TIPS

#1
Feeling sluggish and rubbish when you have woken up? Get boosting up on bananas the more the better - they will help settle your stomach, boosting digestion, they are a mood enhancer, they will give you the energy you need and keep you full. Buy my book for banana receipe ideas.

#2
Wake up every morning and ATLEAST have one glass of lemon water before doing anything else! Ideally try to drink a litre of water. The lemon wakes up your digestive system ready for the day and has great cleansing properties.

#3
Check your dairy and meat intake - dairy can sit in your system for up to seven days unable to digest properly. Meaning other foods also get neglected and nurtients aren't absorbed properly and you feel extremely bloated. Go and smell your food bin, your stomach will be in that state. Rotting foods in your belly - hmm nice.

#4
DO NOT FEAR CARBS - THEY ARE NOT THE ENEMY! CARB UP!!
Bananas, Rice, Potatoes, Leafy Greens, Corn, Beans, Lentils etc PACK THEM IN GO MAD.

#5
NEVER COUNT CALORIES - NEVER RESTRICT!! These restriction 'starvation' diets who tell you to only eat 500 calories a day then have a treat day - where you binge out and eat WAY too much, is simply messing up your metabolism and on your binge days yours body stores all the fat meaning you gain weight because it knows it is going to go back into starvation mode and needs to hold onto every little thing it can. HELLO WEIGHT GAIN.

Life is too short not to live it to the full, making yourself happy.
