Hitting The News. YouTube Video From Route 66.

With 10 days to go until my book signing and with the recent sad news stories it is nice to see the local news picking up my story and wanting to help spread awareness.

Grab yourselves a Blackpool Gazette or Garstang Courier have a read and please come and join us on the 23rd Jan at Acresfield Health Club and Spa!

Excited for this event it will be a lovely late afternoon - early evening event

There will be a limited number of books on sale on the night but there will be an order's list. If you already own a copy of United Tastes of America and would like it signing, don't hesitate to bring it down on the day and I will be more than happy to sign it for you.

The event is completely free! So the more the merrier - bring along your family and friends. Piper's will be creating a few canapés and of course we have the bistro where you can purchase and enjoy a wide range of good, fresh foods and drinks.

To celebrate us hitting the news I have edited one of mine and Matthew's highlights - dining at the Big Texan in Arizona. This steakhouse is in the top 10 in America and Man vs Food began the 72oz steak challenge there. Where you must try and eat a 72oz steak in just 20 minutes. CRAZY. Though you know what American's are like with food. We saw a man attempt the challenge but he was unsuccessful.

Also behind the funny side of this video and steakhouse it shows that this is the 'staple' diet that most people live off in this area and most of America. Which is alarming.

When you read United Tastes Of America you will see that I struggled here for food and again everything has butter, cheese, steak or is fried. It is not doing anyone's body any good. I know we are all different and we should live by our own diets and what works for us. That is why the plant-based lifestyle is brilliant as it is easily adaptable but having such a fatty, high processed diet really is alarming. It was around this time that even Matthew was struggling with this way of eating and living everyday - processed, high fat foods everyday, everywhere you turned. Fresh, healthy foods a rare find.

So here you go - enjoy.

Remember if you do like this video and want more - like so I know and subscribe for more!

Love and Peace.

SOPHIE'S
COOKING TIPS

#1
Feeling sluggish and rubbish when you have woken up? Get boosting up on bananas the more the better - they will help settle your stomach, boosting digestion, they are a mood enhancer, they will give you the energy you need and keep you full. Buy my book for banana receipe ideas.

#2
Wake up every morning and ATLEAST have one glass of lemon water before doing anything else! Ideally try to drink a litre of water. The lemon wakes up your digestive system ready for the day and has great cleansing properties.

#3
Check your dairy and meat intake - dairy can sit in your system for up to seven days unable to digest properly. Meaning other foods also get neglected and nurtients aren't absorbed properly and you feel extremely bloated. Go and smell your food bin, your stomach will be in that state. Rotting foods in your belly - hmm nice.

#4
DO NOT FEAR CARBS - THEY ARE NOT THE ENEMY! CARB UP!!
Bananas, Rice, Potatoes, Leafy Greens, Corn, Beans, Lentils etc PACK THEM IN GO MAD.

#5
NEVER COUNT CALORIES - NEVER RESTRICT!! These restriction 'starvation' diets who tell you to only eat 500 calories a day then have a treat day - where you binge out and eat WAY too much, is simply messing up your metabolism and on your binge days yours body stores all the fat meaning you gain weight because it knows it is going to go back into starvation mode and needs to hold onto every little thing it can. HELLO WEIGHT GAIN.

Life is too short not to live it to the full, making yourself happy.
